Nowadays, we take an umbrella with us when it rains or there is a likelihood that it will. However, did you know that it was created for a completely different purpose?
The name "umbrella" comes from the Italian word "parasole", which literally means "sun protection". Initially, umbrellas were intended precisely to protect from harsh sun rays, only later the soaking fabrics were replaced by materials that protected against rain.
